In memory of Kathy & Chuck - Oct. 13, 2008

Every year, on October 13th, the fine folks at Cypress Landing in the eastern NC town of Chocowinity, gather for a toast at this bench which pays tribute to their late friends Chuck and Kathy Quinby, Robert's mother and stepfather. (October 13th was Kathy's birthday and also the day of Chuck's passing).

Kathy and Chuck thoroughly enjoyed their time living in Cypress Landing and they cherished their neighbors, many of whom became their good friends. If Robert's memory serves him correctly, the only Cypress Landing activities taken seriously were eating (great seafood and down east NC BBQ), drinking, boating, and, of course, golf (okay, maybe not so seriously).
