Summer Weather ... The party is over

I'm no Greg Fischel, but after enjoying the best summer weather I have EVER experienced, I think the party is over. :( Yesterday we had our first downpour of rain since early June, and last night's temperature dipped below 50. Not having to conduct the daily ritual of watering the lawn/landscaping frees up some nice time, but I think Portland has officially made the transition into Autumn (everything needs water to stay green).

Our neighbor has also warned us that the west wind (coming out of the Gorge) blows regularly throughout the winter. And, Alameda St. is known as a wind corridor. Hhhmmm...grunt. We will improvise, adapt, insulate, and hopefully overcome.
