Home renovation update

Yes, progress is still being made (at varying rates).

Windows: Robert is re-furbishing (somewhat) the upstairs casement windows and trim/frames on the front of the house (removing, scraping, sanding, bondo-ing, priming, painting, stripping/priming/painting hinges, and ...eventually ... rehanging). In addition, he has painted the side door (outside - black metal color to match the front door, and gloss white inside). There are two casement windows downstairs, next to the fireplace that will also need to be refurbished (including some glazing). We have ordered 4 replacement windows (Marvin Tilt Pac) to replace the original, deteriorated double hungs (these windows are basically beyond repair).

Front Door: We have added a kickplate to the front door, and with some minor work on one of the locks, it will be complete.

Backyard: We have planted two clumping bamboo plants (Fargesia Rufa) in the planters next to the deck.

Gas Logs: We have ordered gas logs and are in the process of having a gas line run over to the fireplace (being a 1928 house, it will probably be a bit chilly in the middle of winter, so we are confident we will get good use out of these logs. (On our "wish list" are these custom doors from David Kimberly.)

Kitchen: Today we picked out some potential glass tiles (blues/greens with a light color accent - TBD) for the kitchen.

All this, and the home show is tomorrow! Watch our Home Renovation Flickr set for additional photos (to be posted soon).
